a Gyzki-style movie review
Marlon Brando got top billing, despite only being in about 20 minutes of the movie, though I grant there was some very excellent material in those minutes. Louis Calhern was the title character. But the film really belonged to James Mason, who did a marvelous job with a complex role. Also a "cast of thousands" (well, hundreds, anyways) in several scenes, used to very good effect. Well worth seeing, if you're a fan of the writer.
