BioShock Banned!

... but in a good way :-)

Valve bans Bioshock from the office.
"We had to ban Bioshock from our offices," Valve boss Gabe Newell told us. "Nobody gets to play it until Orange Box is done - that's our reward to ourselves as a company; everyone gets a copy of Bioshock."
For those who don't know, Valve are the makers of Half Life 2, which was the *last* game widely hailed as "best ever", and one that many (though not all) reviewers say that BioShock has surpassed.

What a beauty of a game! Do you guys have the resources of Valve? If not, how'd you pull this off? (On topic question).

This is the greatest game of all time. (My real point in replying).

Thanks!

Glad you liked it!

Not sure of our relative resource pools. We did get a *lot* of support from 2K once they bought us, and our division grew significantly over the course of the project.

I'm at the sander cohen level following a big daddy, just sort of scoping out how I'll take him down (I'm in no hurry), when some random splicer shows up. OK, what the hell, throw an enrage at the splicer (which won't do much). They fight, big daddy slams the splicer into a display window, alarm sounds, toss security beacon at the big daddy...

Just one moment from a terrific game.
