Seeking recommendations for electrical contracting

Melville Keep is in desperate need of a complete wiring makeover, before air-conditioner season starts. Anyone have any recommendations for Dorchester-area electrical contractors, especially ones with relevant experience in renovating old Victorians?

Hrm. Not too sanguine about paying a membership fee for a service I pretty much intend to use once. Maybe I can talk [livejournal.com profile] herooftheage into joining.

We've found it to have repeated utility - it's not just for electricians, but for all kinds of services.

I get that, but this is a sort of unusual case. Being a renter, I rarely deal with any sort of house contractor type issue. I am, for complex reasons, taking point on this one, but I don't expect to have further 'homeowner'-type info needs in the foreseeable future.

I've had good luck finding contractors with ServiceMagic: http://www.servicemagic.com/
They're reliable, polite, free, and have good info on their website as well.

I guess I should mention that we re-wired most of that house already back when I lived there, so it might not be as much of a job as you think it is. If you like, I can spend some time researching basement boxes to find the name of the electrician who did the work.
