Last night's Dance Practice was really, really good. The M/F ratio was close to even. [livejournal.com profile] jducouer was in excellent form as fill-in dancemaster. The dance themselves were a mix of old favorites and new-to-me ones that seem likely to become favorites. The only one I sat out was the Traveling Galliard, partly because I don't care much for Galliards, and partly 'cause my feet needed the rest! I got to dance with many Fabulous Babes(tm) :-) [livejournal.com profile] rufinia had some funny mock-arguments during Jenny Pluck Pears. [livejournal.com profile] bess was wearing a skirt that flared quite deliciously when she spun around. I dance "with" [livejournal.com profile] ladysprite twice, although both dances turned out to be of the sort where you spend most of your time away from your "partner"--still quite fun, though. I even got to dance with Morwenna, making her first dance practice appearance in ages. All in all, a delightful time.

Delivered more Vorkosigan tapes to [livejournal.com profile] jducouer, and some Sandman collections to [livejournal.com profile] juldea. Still need to get a bunch of Walt simonson Thor comics to [livejournal.com profile] gyzki and the second volume of Cerebus to [livejournal.com profile] learnedax. I enjoy being a literature-enabler :-)

The hanging-out afterwards was also fun, if perhaps a bit low-energy. Nonetheless, many cool people to chat with, and geek out in various dimensions (largely comic books, last night). Discussed possible Memorial Day get-together with [livejournal.com profile] learnedax, though nothing was firmly decided yet.

Had a nice trip home, too. On the T, ran into [livejournal.com profile] rufinia, Christian, and a girl named Heather (who I don't yet know well enough to knwo if she has an LJ name). Home in time for a bit of cuddling from [livejournal.com profile] kestrell, and then to sleep. Not enough sleep, but occasional sleep-deprivation is often the price of maintaining a social life...

Fascinating article in Salon today: "Why don't we do it in the road? A new school of traffic design says we should get rid of stop signs and red lights and let cars, bikes and people mingle together. It sounds insane, but it works."
