Went to dance last night, but didn't actually dance much. Partially physical exhaustion (oncoming cold?), partially crowd-phobia. Some of you may not be aware, but if the density of unfamiliar faces in a crowd gets too high, I start to wig out. I'm good at keeping it internal, but it makes such events un-fun for me. So, several new people, plus a few people who, while not new, haven't been in years and are in my "active dislike" category, minus about half of the people that I normally hang with at Dance -- I was not having a good time, so I decided to leave.
Naturally, as soon as I'd made that decision, break happened, and I got caught up in an enjoyable conversation with
learnedax. But, as fun as that was, I did actually leave after announcements.
Oh, and
jducouer brought me a copy of the Boston Globe interview with
kestrell, which was cool. Thanks,
msmemory!
Highlight of today at work: working on dynamic speech for a new character, "The Bard". He's a Shakespearean super-hero. So what *does* a Shakespeare-inspired character say when he becomes hypnotized? Or takes heavy damage? Or uses a Heroic Deed? Et cetera. Was fun and silly to answer these questions :-)
