[livejournal.com profile] kestrell and I watched Orson Welles' "Touch of Evil" last night. It was made in 1958, and Welles had gotten qite fat. He looked a lot like John Goodman, and it was even a very Goodman-esque role. Last week, we watched Welles in "The Third Man" (1949), wherein he looked a lot like Joss Whedon, I thought. Similar sort of mildly-pudgy cute baby-fat face. And they have *exactly* the same Naughty Smile -- the shot of Harry Lime reacting to being 'caught' in TTM shows the very same expression that Joss had at the end of his intro to the Serenity preview when he says "Welcome to Serenity".
