Gaming Round-Up
Aug. 1st, 2005 01:16 pmFirst up, a link to a great article on Game Violence.
This weekend was the first one in ages that it's been cool enough to stay in the library for a long time, so I got lots of gaming in.
( Half-Life 2 (long analysis) )
( Thief 2X )
( GTA: San Andreas )
If I may quote directly from the D.O.J. report, “Recently, the offending rates for 14-17 year-olds reached the lowest levels ever recorded.”And for lagniappe, a response to that article.
The lowest levels ever recorded. In other words, the Playstation era has, in fact, produced the most non-violent kids ever.

Impressive voices
Aug. 1st, 2005 03:14 pmSome time ago, I posted a link to a very funny movie trailer that made fun of the typical movie trailer voiceover. I was disappointed to learn that the actor *shown* in the trailer wasn't actually the same person who did the voice. Well, if you want to know what those "famous voices" really look like, and get some giggles in the bargain, check out Five Men in a Limo. (spotted on Mark Evanier's weblog.)
