The Winslow is a large plushie alligator which shows up in all of his comics. In the first pages of Girl Genius, Narrator Phil (with his bowler hat) is telling a story to small children on a street corner with a 3' long version of The Winslow at his feet. It bears a tag, "weird but harmless".
In the comic Buck Godot, the Winslow is about 20' long and every race in the galaxy wants to possess it. I'm sure it appears in Phil and Dixie, but I don't know where off the top of my head.
