I remember him from cons in the 70s, and he must be the author--he most certainly was able to make fun of himself. It's strange how the "he wrote PORN@!" has had so much coverage since the son's shocked, shocked revelations. . .we knew he wrote porn back then. Admittedly, I didn't know how MUCH porn he wrote, even when he no longer had to do so to survive. Sad that his non-porn writings are mostly--if not completely--out of print, so he's remembered now only for the porn.
