An Early Morning Conversation

This happened yesterday. I had just gotten up, kestrell had been up for a while, and we had been talking for a bit.

A: "I'm glad I married you."
K: "Even though you lost the evidence?"
A: "Well, people still seem to believe it."
K: "Maybe we look right for each other or something. Or we look (pause for disgusted emphasis) *cute* together. You are so bad for my gothbitch image."
A: "I'd say I was sorry if I could do it with a straight face."
K: "Well, I appreciate that you can say you would say you were sorry if you could say it with a straght face with a straight face."
A: "(pause to parse that) Wow, that's... meta. True, but..."
K: "You can tell *I've* had my coffee this morning."
