A lot of mainstream press is starting to hit. We knew we'd wow the gaming press, but it's the mainstream outlets that can help us be a mainstream hit. And they're good.

BioShock is the first ever videogame to be reviewed in the Variety: "Hardcore gamers will eat up its endlessly customizable weapons and powers, but "Bioshock" has the opportunity to break out if a broader audience gets wind that Rapture may just be the most amazing fictional world created in any media this year."

Globe and Mail: 5/5. "I'd happily continue to sing BioShock's praises, but every word I write equates to one moment longer that both you and I are kept from playing this splendid videogame."

Washington Post: A

Columbus Alive: A+

In sadder news, one fan reports A word of caution for anyone else planning on playing the Bioshock demo. THE GAME WAS SO FACE MELTINGLY AWESOME IT BLEW UP MY COMPUTER."

Yeah, the demo forced my computer to hard reboot in less time than I spent downloading it.

That said, the brief time I spent with it taught me that my video card is not up to snuff.

I believe Bioshock is the only game I have any interest in that requires a new card - though Fallout 3 might get some use out of it, who knows?

Congrats on getting picked up in the mainstream media! And a Big Daddy exploding someone's computer made me giggle profusely.

By the way, someone on my f-list is asking what you did on the game. I told him that the awesomest parts were your doing, but perhaps you could give him a more specific answer.

To echo others, yes, the game is seriously awesome, and yes, it has aready crashed my machine to bluescreen of death once. And yes, it is making me consider possibly buying a new video card (currently I play on low detail and occasionally stop in a scenic spot to bump up the detail for sight-seeing). And yes, it is very, very reminiscent System Shock 2.
