Gamehelper gave us a flattering rating: "...this game deserves a round eleven out of ten. New ground has been broken, we will have new standards from now on."
The Hollywood Reporter has an interesting article about how BioShock was marketed.
Zero Punctuation has done a very funny video review of BioShock. (A few weeks ago, I meant to post a link to his excellent Psychonauts review, but never got around to it. Well, now I have.)

Date: 2007-09-12 10:09 pm (UTC)There's also this video on YouTube which claims to be footage of Bioshock on a MacBook Pro, running under Parallels (in DirectX 9 mode, averaging 30 fps).
Browsing through Parallel's knowledge base, I suspect that Parallels Desktop 3.0 is emulating DirectX 8.1, with some 9.x extensions.
In short, you could email the guy who made that video, and see what he says, or wait for Alexx to get back to you... :)
