Clove Oil thanks!

Great thanks to
calygrey for the initial suggestion, and to
patrissimo for a timely reminder. Clove Oil turns out to be a *great* topical anesthetic for me. Downside is it only works for ~20 minutes per application, and with diminishing returns if I use it continuously, so not good for sleeping through the night. Still, it should make the daytime *much* more bearable.
About that "diminishing returns" thing: I've been getting that lot lately. The Demerol had a mild positive effect for the first two nights, then seemed to turn totally ineffectual. I've had that reaction with a couple of other drugs recently, as well. It's like my body really thinks I'm supposed to be getting these pain messages, and is re-routing the signal pathways to make sure they get through. Stupid corporeal form...
