The Bad News: More leaks in various parts of the house. The worst of which are positioned directly above my comfy computer-chair next to the library.

The Good News: No apparent book damage. [livejournal.com profile] siderea's idea for an engineering solution allowed me to move the bucket out of the middle of my bed, and thus get 11 hours of much-needed sleep. Mucho thanks, [livejournal.com profile] siderea!!! [Though I'm curious what you thought the tinfoil and broomhandle were for. I just used plastic sheeting and duct tape to build a mini-aqueduct...]

Mara has set steps into motion to get us a New Roof. Which, no doubt, will have its own traumas assoicated with it, but they should at least be more predictable ones.

These household disasters seem to come with remarkable regularity whenever Vis is off on wanderjahr. A side-effect of losing his Ducal weather control power from the vicinity? Or perhaps just a side-effect of removing his personal "good fortune" field?

Good suggestions. But point 1 is less relevant here due to a) having a very big bucket and b) it still being *on* the bed, but now at the far edge, not the middle. So the splash doesn't make it back out of the bucket. As for point 2, My solution to this was (in this case) an old, too-squished-to-be-useful-for-sleeping-on pillow lining the bottom of the bucket.

Will keep these ideas in mind for potential future incidents.
