The Bad News: More leaks in various parts of the house. The worst of which are positioned directly above my comfy computer-chair next to the library.

The Good News: No apparent book damage. [livejournal.com profile] siderea's idea for an engineering solution allowed me to move the bucket out of the middle of my bed, and thus get 11 hours of much-needed sleep. Mucho thanks, [livejournal.com profile] siderea!!! [Though I'm curious what you thought the tinfoil and broomhandle were for. I just used plastic sheeting and duct tape to build a mini-aqueduct...]

Mara has set steps into motion to get us a New Roof. Which, no doubt, will have its own traumas assoicated with it, but they should at least be more predictable ones.

These household disasters seem to come with remarkable regularity whenever Vis is off on wanderjahr. A side-effect of losing his Ducal weather control power from the vicinity? Or perhaps just a side-effect of removing his personal "good fortune" field?

Rain falls through the atmosphere, so it soaks up more alien space rays than you do (unprotected) on the ground.

<rolls eyes> Oh, come on. Everybody knows water blocks rays. That's why Atlantis sank: it wasn't a disaster; it was a carefully planned effort to get as much water as possible between them and their arch-enemies the Grays.

It only blocks the rays *you* know about, me friend. And I'm not telling.

You don't need to; I know what you're thinking, since you're not wearing anything to block the rays you don't know about.
