Unexpected Acronym, or, one of these things is not like the other...

I've run across this a few times recently, but I figure some of you haven't yet.

LASER = Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation
MASER = Microwave Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation
TASER = Thomas A. Swift's Electric Rifle

Yeah, I read that recently as well, and was amused.

I think that all three, along with RADAR, have been naturalized away from being acronyms modernly.
