Geekiness

The Inner Geek Test says that I am "47.73176% - Super Geek". Seems about right.

I did not check the box for "Throughout my life, my level of geekiness has only increased", as there has been occasional backsliding. I also did not check the box for "flat out lied on this test to score better", though I did check the one for exaggeration :-) I gave myself 2 extra points for "working in the videogame industry" (arguably redundant with "My profession requires a certain level of geekiness", but I thought it worth an extra point) and "been on panels at an SF con".

I scored pretty well on the test, but I don't really agree with most of their assessments of what it means to be a geek. Most of the things they mention are more classically Nerd than what has been termed Geek within the prideful side of the social circle. Also a large amount of New Age Hippy, which I tend to think of as being only tangential to either...

I gave my usual affirmative answer to the "lying on this test" question - I have now. And because the question sets itself up for that, I don't think it's particularly deceitful.
