On my way home last night on the T, I picked up a discarded paper to browse. Usually, it turns out to be the Metro, but this one was the Somerville News (for April 26). There was a picture on the front page that I thought for just a moment was of
metahacker. Turned out not to be him, but a fellow named Zach Warren. He was pictured in the act of breaking a world record for "joggling". He finished the Boston Marathon in 2:58:23, while juggling three balls the entire way.
This was a fundraising stunt to help him fund a return trip to Afghanistan, where he recently spent a stint using "circus arts to promote public health messages". He plans to do a study investigatng whether measurements of laughter and smiling can be used as "an indicator of health -- a standard of public health measurement".
Nice to occasionally see news stories about people doing Good, Cool Stuff.
