Day 34: Haven't got the new mask yet, so no CPAP tonight. 9 hours sleep.

---

Day 35: Last night, the tech came by with a replacement mask. It was the same glib, used-car-salesman guy as last time. He reinforced my opinion of him by saying things like "I'm surprised it took you so long to call. That first mask was a piece of crap, I don't know why they even prescribe it." Uh, right. Nice of you to be so frank *now*, but why didn't you tell me this back when it would have been useful? Sigh.

I'll say this for him: he's quick. He had the new mask delivered, adjusted and all the papers signed in about 15 minutes.

Apparently my insurance is still covering this, since the paperwork only had a $0.00 entry in the charge column. Of course, if the insurance *didn't* cover this sort of thing, maybe the provider wouldn't be so cavalier about allowing people to have inferior masks up front.

He didn't actually bring any options with him, just one fancier-model mask. He said that there was a third model, but they were temporarily out of stock, and I should call to get one if this one doesn't work out. In hindsight, I'm not sure I actually believe him about the out-of-stockness, but whatever.

If number 3 fails, they're out of full-face options, and would have to go to a nose-only mask. But there's no way that could work without my chronic congestion getting cleared up first. I was already planning on seeing an allergy specialist in April, so this is another reason.

The new mask does still leak, but not as badly as the old one. I kept it on for 9 hours last night. Didn't feel fully rested, but felt rested enough that I couldn't get back to sleep, so I got up after about a half hour of trying.

---

Day 36: Very tossy-turny last night. About 6 hours masked, then three without. Though I didn't actually *sleep* very much those last three. I feel very un-rested :(

---

Day 37: 9 hours masked, 10 total, alarm-terminated. Had the mask in a very low-leak mode -- but woke up with my teeth hurting again. Sigh.

---

Day 38: Same as last night, mostly. Teeth did not hurt nearly as much, though. And mainly my *upper* teeth. The mask doesn't press on them at all. Maybe it has something to do with the constant air flow?

I figured out the secret to making the humidifier last all night. Obvious in hindsight, really. When I get up to go the bathroom, turn the machine off, so it isn't trying to humidify my entire, extremely dry room.
