Nifty quest last night. A camp of warriors was worried about some of their number who had gone off to fight giant spiders and hadn't come back -- could I please rescue them? So I headed off to the giant spider area. There, I found lots of twitching bundles of webbing labeled "Victim". Strangely, instead of the usual "interact with me" icon, they were showing up as monsters that could be fought. Once you "kill" the web, the victim emerges. Only he isn't always the good guy you were looking for! These spiders will eat anyone, so many of the webs contain hostile monsters from other parts of the zone. After the first nasty surprise of that sort, I started opening these webs from a safe distance, with my wand :)

When in a party of two, the best moment for your partner to suddenly go offline is *not* 30 seconds after summoning the giant Elite skeletal dragon. Oh well. Try again some other time, with a different group.
Lots more nifty and/or unique quests down in the southern half of Terrokar Forest. I had been rather unimpressed by the northern half, but the southern regions are back up to the standard I've come to expect. After the improvements in this expansion pack, getting any character through the old level 25-60 content is going to seem boring by comparison.

Got some help yesterday, and finally took out the giant undead dragon. They also stayed around long enough to help me with the giant Bore Worm, which was actually a harder fight. I *hate* bore worms. They do massive damage close up *and* ranged. They hide underground, so they always get to start the fight on their terms. And this giant one would periodically duck underground during the fight, making me waste spellcasting time. The party wiped the first time we fought him, and sort-of the second time as well. On the second run, I ran back from the graveyard, and decided to try rez-ing in mid-fight out of desperation. Somehow, it worked, although possibly due to a bug more than valor. I think the monster's AI decided the fight was over, and he was programmed to 'die' rather than run away. The first time this happened, I couldn't loot the body because I had been dead myself when he 'died', but this time I was closer, and was able to. No more bore worm fighting unless a quest calls for it!
OK, pretty much done with Terrokar, save for the dungeons. On to Nagrand! I heard someone describe this as "Stranglethorn Vale and the Barrens had a baby!", which is pretty apt. Like those zones, it is large, scenic, and *full* of quests. Lots of the usual "kill things" quests, but also more unusual ones. The high point (in multiple senses) was probably the quest where I had to use a goblin's Jump-O-Matic machine to reach a bird's nest at the top of a tree.
Am now level 67. Going up levels actually lowers my crit chance, but with new gear I got it back over 30%. Spells this level were disappointing. But with the density of quests in Nagrand, I should hit 68 before long.

Actually saw one of my old guild-mates from work online last night. Once upon a time, he was 50 levels higher than Rumpelstilt. But I've been playing much more than him lately, so he's only level 62 :) I helped him out on a few Zangarmarsh quests before he took off to watch BSG, then went back to Nagrand for my own questing.
Finished three quests, which was enough to ding 68. Learned an Invisibility spell, which is pretty cool. Don't quite know yet how/when it will be useful, but it sure is interesting. It takes 5 seconds to fade me out, then leaves me invisible for 20 seconds. Enough time for a quick Evocation, or bandages, I guess. The wacky part is that, while Invisible, I can only see people or animals who are *also* invisible. It's definitely useful to have an invsibility-detection mechanism, but this one is awfully double-edged. I wonder if I can loot items without breaking Invisibility? If so, I may be able to stealth past the occasional boss, much as Rogues can.
