Marfisa has hit level 22. Looks like just a few quests left before it's time for her to leave the Blood Elf lands. One of them is a 5-person group quest, though, so that may take a while to deal with.

Implaq, with the help of Caella and Larrel, has conquered Shadowfang Keep at last! The first WoW character I ever played was a Forsaken, and so that was the first instance I ever saw. Never actually went all the way through it before though. Although I have had a strong hate for the final boss, Arugal, ever since I first got ganked by a Son of Arugal while minding my own business in Silverpine Forest.
The three of us were slightly over-leveled for the instance, so we did ok even under-manned, only wiping a few times. The first time was due to carelessness in a heavily patrolled area. The second time was when we faced a mini-boss with, as it turns out, *exactly* the wrong strategy. We tried to keep him sheeped, but every time he de-sheeped, he summoned another Ghost Wolf, until we were buried under the mass of them. It turns out that if you attack this boss *directly*, he doesn't summon nearly as many wolves, and it's not so bad a fight.
Amazingly, we *didn't* wipe on Arugal himself, though it was a very near thing indeed. He had a lot of surprises up his sleeves. Stunning and moving away isn't that unusual; *telporting* away was a bit of a shock. And his room was cleverly laid out for him to take use of that teleportation. (In fact, the layout of the whole keep made more sense in that light. We had been remarking upon the eccentric architecture.) Worst of all, he had a spell which could temporarily turn me into a werewolf and make me attack the other party members! Larrel fell, but Caella and I held on - barely! - long enough to kill him.
This was the first time I adventured while using voice chat. It's both more fun and a great deal more time-efficient.
Marfisa, meanwhile, is working on her L20 Paladin weapon quest. It's another one of those World Tour ones, and involves 3 separate dungeons. Luckily for her, Arsonne was hanging out in Orgrimmar, and was willing to quickly run her through RFC.
The other two will take somewhat longer, but she headed out to Ashenvale to pick up the FP near BFD, doing a few miscellaneous quests en route, and dinged L23.

With some help from GlowingMoon, Implaq defeated the last few elites in Ghostlands. There then followed a bit of world tour, as I was acclaimed a hero of the Blood Elves. (Clearly, they wanted to ensure that the player could find their way to some post-newb zones to play in, as opposed to continuing south and ending up in the grotesquely overleveled Eastern Plaguelands.)
Implaq, meanwhile, has been playing around Thousand Needles, a zone I've never spent much time in before. Man, there sure is some good mining to be had there! Her skill has been upped enough that she can mine Mithril, though it will be some time before she can *do* anything with it. Right now, it's primarily about the iron, though steel is just over the horizon. I *thought* she was done with Bronze, but not quite. A questgiver wants her to make a huge pile of Bronze gear in return for more advanced Blacksmithing recipes.
Speaking of mining, I've noticed another recent (undocumented) improvement to the game. It used to be that, after you died, you had to turn your Sense Minerals (or other Sense ability) back on manually. This was annoying and pointless, and has now been fixed.
Of course, as some things are fixed, others are broken. I spent about ten minutes trying, with some frustration, to complete a quest in TN. I was pretty sure I had found the right McGuffin, but I couldn't interact with it. Eventually, I checked Thottbot and discovered that a recent patch had broken this quest; it wasn't just me. Have I mentioned lately how much I love Thottbot?
---
Started a Draenei Shaman over on Llane, as I still haven't done a Dranei all the way through the starting regions. His name is OddySeuss. Been playing him intermittently when no one from Guildissimo was on BR.
Implaq is at L36. With Glowingmoon's help, she killed a boatload of trolls to get tusks for a Warrior weapon quest. Next stop, Arathi Highlands, to kill lots of elementals...
---
Hm... Those Elementals are still a bit too tough to solo comfortably. Back to Kalimdor for a bit more adventuring so I can hit 38.
Hey! For Halloween, there's a giant Wicker Man outside of The Undercity. Coolness! Especialy since I just recently saw the movie "The Wicker Man" (1973) for the first time.
